Fascial Stretch Therapy™ is a unique, complete and complementary system of table-based assisted stretching, focusing on the fascia and joint capsule as the key elements in achieving optimal flexibility, strength, performance and pain relief.
Massage therapy is the manipulation of superficial and deep layers of muscles, fascia, ligaments, tendons, and connective tissue using various techniques. These techniques may include gentle or firm pressure, kneading, friction, tapotement, and others in order to promote relaxation/well-being, recovery and healing of injuries, pain relief, and enhanced function to the targeted tissues.
There are several types of massage offered at Performance Stretch Therapy:
- Swedish Massage
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Sports Massage
- Therapeutic Massage
Massage Cupping is the combination of massage movements and negative pressure with the use of a suction device on the skin. A cup is positioned at the area to be treated and, depending on the type of cups being used; a vacuum is created within the cup to draw the skin and underlying tissue into the cup. The produced vacuum creates a suction effect that increases blood and lymphatic circulation systemically and to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue and support, draws stagnation, pathogenic factors and toxins out of the body and releases a myriad of pain causing factors.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is the use of tools which enables clinicians to efficiently locate and treat individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction. IASTM is performed with ergonomically designed instruments that detect and treat fascial restrictions, encourage rapid localization and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis, chronic inflammation, or degeneration. Here at Performance Stretch Therapy, we use RockBlades as our instrument of choice.
NeuroKinetic TherapyTM is an innovative and relatively new method of bodywork and muscle therapy which utilizes manual muscle testing to assess dysfunctions of the coordination system of the brain resulting from traumatic injury, overuse, under use, repetitive stress, postural stress, etc. It cues the brain for new learning resulting in immediate correction of neuromuscular imbalances. NKTTM works with the body’s organizational intelligence, addressing pain at its source: the motor control center of the brain. Practitioners can quickly and accurately correct the dysfunctional postural and movement patterns that are the source of most mystifying chronic pain and degeneration of the muscles and joints.
NormaTec is the leader in rapid recovery—their systems give a competitive edge to the world’s elite athletes, coaches, and trainers. RockTape is a special kind of tape known as kinesiology tape. RockTape is the world’s best kinesiology tape. It can be used to treat sports and non-sports injuries, including shin splints, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee, groin, and hamstring pulls, calf injuries, rotator cuff problems, and back pain. It can also be effectively used for postural correction and to reduce edema. RockTape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, creating a decompressive effect. More stretchy, stickier and stronger than the competition, RockTape is preferred by athletes and medical professionals throughout the world.
